Your face is obviously an important aspect of your appearance and personality, but unfortunately, that’s exactly where the signs of aging first become apparent. The effects of aging, sun damage, pollution, and general stress can take their toll on your face, neckline and maybe even your self-esteem.
What Does a Facelift Correct?
- Facial creases
- Wrinkles
- Sagging skin
- Fat deposits under the jaw line
- Heavy jowls
How a Facelift Works
A facelift can turn back the clock and considerably reduce these undesirable changes by removing excess fat, tightening the underlying muscles and re-draping the skin around the neck and face. Surgical incisions are placed behind the hairline or in areas that follow the natural contour of your skin. There are many different techniques your surgeon may utilize, but each is generally intended to reduce the signs of aging in the lower face while maintaining a natural appearance. The procedure can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation.

Other Procedures Performed in Conjunction With a Facelift
A facelift can be done alone or in conjunction with another procedure such as a brow lift, eyelid surgery, chin augmentation or nose reshaping. If the problem areas are limited to the neck, an isolated "neck lift" may be recommended. Dr. Samaha successfully provides his patients with a less "surgical" and more natural look by using a variety of advanced surgical methods, including short scar techniques.
Facelift surgery will not change the shape of your nose, eyes or forehead.
