Radiesse Hits 1 Million Syringe Mark

Bioform Medical Inc. announced last week that 1 million syringes of Radiesse dermal filler have been shipped since 2002.

About 10,000 medical and cosmetic surgery practices have received the product, an achievement that defines Radiesse as one of the leading dermal fillers on the international market.  The only comparable products that have reached such a pinnacle are fillers composed of collagen or hyaluronic acid, which have both been on the market longer.

Radiesse has been available for cosmetic use in Europe since 2002, but in 2006 the United States FDA expanded its approved use to include  facial cosmetic applications, as well as reconstructive and therapeutic uses.

At Boston Plastic Surgery, Dr. Samaha uses Radiesse for deep wrinkles, smile lines, non-surgical nose reshaping, and to fill scars.
