Undo Damage with Gentle, No-Downtime Laser Resurfacing
Maintaining a gorgeous skin tone can seem impossible when you’re sidelined by acne scars, dark spots, wrinkles, or tired-looking skin. Don’t worry: glowing, refreshed skin is within reach. CoolPeel in Boston is a gentle, 15-minute laser treatment that requires no numbing agents and little-to-no downtime, yet effectively helps to reverse the signs of aging and sun damage.
How does the CoolPeel laser work?
The Tetra CO2 laser used for CoolPeel treatment is an ablative laser that creates tiny openings in the skin, just enough to prompt your body’s healing response. In turn, your body supplies the treated area with collagen, ultimately restoring a smooth, fresh surface.
While previous generations of laser therapy worked through a similar mechanism, the Tetra CO2 laser used for CoolPeel delivers pulses of light without the other lasers’ intense heat, which lingers on your skin and causes unnecessary harm. CoolPeel works just as well as those lasers—but without the downtime.
What is CoolPeel treatment like?
During CoolPeel treatment, we will run the laser device over the treatment area, allowing the laser to penetrate the entire surface of your skin. It’s so gentle that you won’t need numbing cream, as you would with harsher laser treatments. As the laser passes over the skin, patients experience a mild tingling sensation. The process takes 15 minutes or less.
You will be able to return to your normal activities after treatment, and you may experience redness equivalent to a sunburn for 1-2 days. Be sure to keep your skin hydrated as it heals.
Taking care of your skin after a CoolPeel treatment
After your CoolPeel treatment, you will need to follow important aftercare instructions to protect and support your skin. What results can I expect from CoolPeel?
Your skin will begin to glow after 3-4 days, and wrinkles, blemishes, and pores will all appear diminished. CoolPeel treats a range of common skin concerns. You can expect for CoolPeel to:
- Reduce pore size
- Minimize sun damage and dark spots
- Smooth fine lines
- Improve skin texture
- Reduce appearance of acne scars
We can treat your face, neck, and hands with the CoolPeel laser. As with any resurfacing treatment, results are optimized by multiple treatments, so we usually recommend 2-3 CoolPeel treatments.
CoolPeel + Vivace Microneedling RF
Want to double down on fine lines, acne scars, and loose skin? We love to pair CoolPeel with Vivace™ Microneedling RF, a combination treatment that uses microneedling, skin-tightening radiofrequency (RF), and LED to dramatically improve the skin. Like CoolPeel, Vivace is not painful, nor does it require downtime. This combination is the ultimate in no-downtime nonsurgical skin resurfacing.
Ask us what else Tetra CO2 can do!
Not only can we treat fine lines and uneven skin tone with the CoolPeel treatment, we can use our Tetra CO2 laser to deliver more aggressive facial resurfacing treatments for patients experiencing significant scars or deep wrinkles and lines. The best part? Used for more comprehensive treatments, Tetra CO2 requires less downtime compared compared with other skin resurfacing lasers because of its unique, innovative DEKA Pulse technology.
