Your Trusted Source for Boston Facial Rejuvenation, Laser Resurfacing & Skin Tightening
A laser skin resurfacing procedure, sometimes called a “micropeel” is considered by experts as the gold standard in resurfacing technology, is an effective longterm treatment for visible scars, sun damage, and signs of aging.
Our advanced dual-pulsed laser is the most precise equipment available to resurface the skin. It safely vaporizes the upper layers of damaged skin, layer by layer at precisely controlled levels of penetration.
This results in a highly-effective treatment with gratifying outcomes, while also limiting the extent of post-procedure recovery and down-time.
We are also proud to offer laser resurfacing treatments for men!

How does laser skin resurfacing work?
Collagen is a key building block for healthy, vibrant skin. When stress diverts blood away from the skin to other organs, this decreases collagen production and leads to duller or problem-prone skin. Laser technology creates tiny injuries and openings in your skin to stimulate natural collagen production, restoring smooth, fresh skin you can be proud of.
The state-of-the-art technology combines the traditional “full field” resurfacing, removing imperfections from the outermost layers of skin, with a “Pro-Fractional” approach, reaching deeper into the skin layers to stimulate the body’s healing response.
In general, laser skin resurfacing treatments fall under one of two categories depending on their level of invasiveness: ablative lasers and non-ablative lasers. Ablative laser treatments are more invasive than non-ablative lasers, but produce the best and longest lasting clinical results but with the downside of a longer recovery and higher degree of risk than non-ablative lasers.
What are the benefits of laser resurfacing for your skin?
- Improvement of wrinkles and scars
- Improvement of uneven pigmentation
- Improvement in skin tone and texture
- More comfortable and more precise than CO2 laser resurfacing
- More effective than light peels or micro-dermabrasion
This treatment can renew skin that has been damaged by chronic sun exposure, and can dramatically reduce fine lines, especially around the mouth and the eyes. Brown spots may be diminished or disappear as well, leaving you with skin you will be proud of.
Additionally, the flexibility and precision of this unique laser allows us to offer various levels of treatment for our patients, ranging from a series of lighter treatments versus fewer, more aggressive treatments.
What happens in my initial Boston laser resurfacing consultation?
During a complimentary skin evaluation and personal consultation, your skin and medical history will be carefully examined under the guidance of Dr. Samaha and our experienced staff of licensed Aestheticians and Aesthetic Nurse Specialists.
First we can determine if you’re a good candidate for laser treatments in the first place. Laser resurfacing isn’t for everyone, especially those who are on certain medications, have certain medical conditions, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are a good candidate for a laser skin resurfacing procedure, then we can determine your unique skin profile and recommend the perfect laser treatment plan to repair, renew, and maintain healthier, smoother, clearer skin.
Prior to the laser treatment, your skin will be prepared with a custom 3 to 6-week skin care protocol to ensure optimal healing, recovery and results. We have successfully treated a wide range of skin conditions with laser resurfacing and look forward to discussing your options.
What should I expect during my first laser skin resurfacing treatment?
Treatment involves the application of scanned laser energy over the facial skin, and customizing the laser settings to address the individual needs of each part of the face. Some lighter micropeels can be comfortably performed with a topical anesthetic gel and without sedation. We do suggest light sedation for a more comfortable experience with deeper treatments.
Post-procedure discomfort is moderate and typically resolved after the first couple of days, although care is sometimes needed for a few days until the treated areas have healed. The extent of the recovery is directly related to the aggressiveness of the treatment.
Patients having lighter laser treatments should be able to return to work and regular activity within 1-4 days after treatment. The treated skin will exhibit redness that resembles sunburn and possibly some mild swelling. Within a week, the skin on the treated area will peel, revealing brighter and clearer skin.
Deeper or more aggressive laser treatments will require up to 7-10 days for full healing, and may be associated with a temporary ‘raw’ appearance. Your post-procedure care will be explained to you in detail, and will include gentle washing and the use of medical-grade gels, creams and lotions to promote optimal healing and results.
How many laser treatments will I need?
While good results can be achieved with just one laser resurfacing treatment, some patients may benefit from additional procedures, depending on skin type and thickness, and the depth of the scars or wrinkles.
What are the risks of laser skin resurfacing procedures?
Laser resurfacing, whether ablative or non-ablative, can cause mild side effects or adverse skin reactions such as redness, swelling, itching, pain, acne, infection, scarring, or discoloration/hyperpigmentation. We recommend speaking to Dr. Samaha and his aesthetics team to alleviate any of your concerns about the possible risks and side-effects of a laser skin resurfacing treatment.
How long do the results of laser resurfacing last?
For most people, the results of laser skin resurfacing will last several years and can be longer term or even permanent if the patient follows a dedicated medical-grade skin care regime.
How much does Boston laser skin resurfacing cost?
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons estimates that the average cost of laser resurfacing to be between $1400 and $2500.
